Terms of use

Last updated: 23 October 2026.

These terms govern the use of WebRobot — the console, the APIs, the agents, the pipelines and the vertical applications built on them. Using the service means accepting them. Section 2, on third-party data, is the condition on which the service is provided: if you cannot accept it, do not use the service.

1. What WebRobot is

WebRobot is a set of tools: it collects, loads, transforms and analyses data from heterogeneous sources, and trains models on it, on your instructions. You decide which sources to use, what to collect, how often and for what purpose. We run the software; we do not choose your sources or your purposes, and we do not acquire on your behalf any right over the content of third parties.

2. The data you use: you are responsible for the rights

The platform loads data from any source you connect: websites, APIs, databases, files and object storage, data shared by partners, public and commercial datasets (for example from model and dataset hubs), sensors and IoT, satellite and Earth-observation imagery. Each source comes with its own conditions — a website's terms of use, an API agreement, a dataset or data-provider licence, a contract. Many forbid automated collection, allow only personal or non-commercial use, require attribution, or reserve text and data mining (under Article 4 of EU Directive 2019/790 and national laws); content may also be protected by copyright and by the database right.

You are solely responsible for holding the rights, licences and permissions required for every source you use — including data you upload or connect yourself — and for every use you make of it, in particular:

  • automated collection of the content (crawling, scraping, monitoring);
  • text and data mining, including sentiment analysis and topic or trend analysis;
  • training, fine-tuning or evaluating machine-learning models, or building datasets for them — on our infrastructure, on your cloud or on supercomputers such as EuroHPC, whose own access conditions also apply;
  • storage, reproduction, publication or redistribution of the content;
  • any commercial use, including providing the results to your own customers.

You must respect the conditions of each source (terms of use, licences, API agreements), for websites their robots.txt and any machine-readable reservation of rights, copyright and the database right, and data-protection law: for personal data you collect or process through the service, you are the controller (see our DPA).

3. The source catalogue is not a permission

The catalogue lists sources together with technical information — a recipe (how a page is structured and how to read it) and the status of the last automatic check. The fact that a source, or a recipe for it, is in the catalogue does not mean that you may collect it, mine it, analyse it for sentiment, use it to train or fine-tune models, or reuse it in any other way.

Where we show a legal indication (for example “Licence required”), it is a courtesy based on a check of the terms at a given date. It is not legal advice, it may be incomplete or out of date, and the absence of such an indication does not mean that a use is allowed. Terms change: check them yourself before you rely on a source.

Sources whose terms we found to forbid automated collection or to reserve text and data mining are marked “Licence required”, and the agents remind you of it when you use them. This is a reminder, not a permission or a refusal: whether you may use a source for your purpose is for you to establish.

4. What you must not do

  • get around technical protections or access controls — logins you are not entitled to, CAPTCHAs, paywalls, bot-blocking measures — or use credentials of others;
  • collect special categories of personal data, or profile individuals, without a lawful basis;
  • overload a site, or keep collecting from it after its owner has asked you to stop;
  • use the service to fix resale prices, coordinate prices with competitors or for any other practice that breaks competition law;
  • use the service for anything unlawful, or to infringe the rights of others.

5. Requests from rights holders

If the owner of a source asks us to stop, we stop collecting from it on the platform, and we may suspend the runs, recipes or accounts involved. Rights holders can write to legal@webrobot.eu.

6. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold harmless WebRobot, its affiliates and staff against claims, damages, fines and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from the sources you use, the content you collect or the uses you make of it, or from your breach of these terms.

7. No warranty on data and results

Collected data, analyses, sentiment scores and model outputs are produced automatically and may be incomplete or wrong. They are provided as they are, without any warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose, and they are not financial, legal or investment advice. Within the limits allowed by law, we are not liable for decisions taken on the basis of them, nor for indirect or consequential damages.

8. Suspension and changes

We may suspend access in case of a breach of these terms, of a rights holder's complaint or of a request from an authority. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version, and material changes are announced in the console before they take effect.

What you build remains yours (see Ownership); how we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.
