How a graph of entanglement forms
Before asking whether geometry can emerge from entanglement, you need to see what is being grown. Here it is, one step at a time, on a network small enough to count: every number is computed live in your browser.
Use Next. This is an explanation of the model, not a result: it stops before geometry on purpose.
What to take away
- The links are the entanglement. Each one is a pair of qubits in a Bell state, so the entropy of a region is the number of links crossing its border.
- Not every rule is allowed. Operations inside a group cannot raise the entanglement across its border, and this limits how the graph can grow.
- Distance comes last. It is counted in hops on the links. The drawing on screen has no physical meaning.
- The rule is an assumption. Neither who makes new qubits nor why this rule applies comes out of the model.
